If you're interested in joining YYC, then why not sign up for your voice test today?

You can download the voice test form directly from the website, and check out our Facebook or Twitter for more information about the choir!

A voice test may seem scary when you first read it, but you have no need to worry or panic! All you need to do is sing two contrasting songs, if you are auditioning to be a member of the Senior Choir (school year 9 above), preferably one of which is traditional/classical. You will also be given some simple aural and sight singing tests. The voice test will only last 15 minutes!

If you are auditioning for the Junior Choir (school years 5 - 8), the voice test process will be conducted in an informal group to reduce nervousness about solo singing. There will be an option to sing alone one or two of your own songs after the group section, should you wish to do so.

Voice Tests will take place during January at Bootham School, York and occasionally in other locations. You will be expected to attend one or both of the residential courses which take place during the year. These take place during the Easter and Summer Holidays, with a public concert at the end of the week.

The Yorkshire Youth Choir, is a branch of NOEL (Northern Orchestral Enterprises Ltd), under the artistic directorship of Paul Feehan.

To apply for a voice test simply fill in the form on the link below, send that and a cheque to the NOEL office and you will receive your audition date and time!

The next voice tests will be held at Bootham School, York on Saturday 25th January 2020.
